Williams 2023 Car Launch

Today in Formula 1’s marathon month of car launches, we saw Williams launch the FW45.

Hosted by Drive to Survive favourite Will Buxton, today’s launch was thankfully a lot shorter and more related to Formula 1 than that of Red Bull’s on Friday. In terms of technical updates to the car, the floor has been raised to stay in line with the FIA Technical Regulations and the sidepod concept has been evolved. The team also stated “major external aerodynamic surface” modifications which will in turn increase downforce and improve handling.

We also got to hear from drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, with the Rookie saying he is “super motivated” for the season ahead.

Hopefully this all points in the direction of improvements at Williams this season!

Gulf confirmed as Williams sponsor for 2023

Having been starved of F1 content for months, the announcements are now coming thick and fast. For 2023 and beyond, Williams announced a partnership with Gulf Oil International. As well as the Formula 1 team, this collaboration will also include the Williams Racing Driver Academy and Williams Esports. Gulf CEO, Mark Jones, said that together the two companies share a bright vision for the future of the sport, both on and off the track. Also highlighted was their excitement to expand their motorsport foothold into the driver academy and esport scenes, looking to play a role in the future success stories too.

The Gulf logo is now visible on the FW45, the driver race suits and pitstop gantry.
