Time for Aston Martin to take their turn in the spotlight and I’m sorry Aston Martin fans, but some slander is coming…

Having gone from one of the best car launches we have seen so far in McLaren, Aston Martin reminded us why they are not seen at one of the most exciting teams on the grid. P1’s Tommy Bellingham summed it up best on their Twitch stream earlier - “why are Aston Martin so damn boring?” and unfortunately I couldn’t agree more. When it was announced a few years ago that Aston Martin would be returning to the sport there was a lot of buzz around, after all Aston is linked to James Bond and his exhilarating car scenes. However, what we have ended up with is more focused on corporate that fun and this is exactly what we got today from the car launch.

Now I can’t sit here and say that I don’t like the car itself, it does look great. However, I did think for a second that they had revealed last year’s car accidentally as it is exactly the same (minus a slight change to the shade of green). I appreciated the effort of the massive build up but it was slightly laughable when were left waiting ages just to see the same livery. According to Technical Director Dan Fallows, the AMR23 is a “significant development” on the car that was refined at the end of last season and they have improved in every critical area. It certainly seems like Aston Martin are feeling confident for next season. Let’s see what happens in Bahrain!
